What’s Good for the Desktop… Isn’t Always Good for Mobile!

Desktop vs. Mobile

I get it, pop-ups are annoying. But they do serve a purpose, and they also work.

Web site’s are always struggling to find ways to get more conversions without alienating their visitors. Pop-ups hover that thin line between the two.

But when it comes to mobile, they are almost always firmly in the place of annoyance. Even worse, popups that are not specifically designed for mobile can destroy the mobile user’s experience. More times then not, they are extremely difficult to close. Either the “X” is off screen, or so close to other clickable elements that the reader ends up taking an action they did not intend, just to get the popup out of the way.

Unless your pop-ups are 100% mobile friendly, go without them. Just because they work for your desktop visitors, doesn’t mean it’s good for mobile!
