Hi,

Interesting piece, though I am still searching for an answer to my duplicate domain name issue. I ran an analytic program, Website Grader, on my site and it said that ideopia.com and www.ideopia.com were hurting SEO because they are considered separate domains by Google. Is this true? If so, is it solvable with a 301 redirect?

Thanks so much.

Not sure I know of any tools for that. Looking for dupes within a site or duplicate from one site to another? If the latter, I'm not sure I'd worry too much about that.

You could always do a Google search for the meta tag content in quotes.

Thanks for the article. I want to move a website from 1 domain to another and I thought perhaps the easiest way was to park domains but I think even though Google is pretty relaxed about most duplicate content (or so Matt Cutts) says not to worry too much about it. I think its best to make sure search engines know exactly which domain is the primary domain name.

Not to mention for cookie setting purposes and other existing non relative url's its probably a good idea to do it all "properly with a 301".
