Duplicate Content Options

If you are worried about having duplicate content on your site, its probably not a good idea to swap that duplicate content with other duplicate content. A Search Engine Roundtable Forums member posted a question about his own duplicate content issues and asked if it using WikiPedia’s content was a solution. Here’s RusyBrick’s response:

I would add my own content. Google is good at picking up Wiki, Dmoz, Amazon, eBay clones

And then I followed up with:

So you want to place internal duplicate content with external duplicate content? Doesn’t make sense to me. Like RustyBrick said, spend some time to write your own content. Wiki can be good for ideas, along with a few other sources, but pay someone if you have to to develop your own unique stuff.
