HBO is releasing a FireFox theme, or “skin”, that is based on their upcoming new show, “Rome” [Sorry, link no longer available.]
Apparently FireFox is becoming more popular with television and movie companies in their advertising. Warner Bros. also released a FireFox theme earlier this year for the movie “Batman Returns”.
“In choosing Firefox, HBO is looking to tap its millions of users. The browser has been downloaded more than 80 million times from the foundation’s website.”
“New York advertising firm Deep Focus is handling the online campaign for HBO and chose Firefox because many of its users are early adopters of technology. This type of consumer often identifies himself through the technology he uses, Ian Schafer, president and co-founder of Deep Focus, said.”
