Velocitize your web marketing

Has Yahoo Given Up with Search?

I’ve heard some interesting news from a well respected source that Yahoo is no longer going to pursue the marketshare that Google has achieved in regard to search. I suppose that yahoo figures they have other products and solutions to give more attention to. Perhaps dropping intense search development will free up expenditures to be diverted into other entities. The key is remaining profitable, preferably with substantial growth. We’ll see how they do.

Let the Pole Position Marketing team help you velocitize your web marketing, expand your online presence and grow your business through SEO, PPC, social media, as well as consulting, speaking and/or in-house training. Contact our pit crew at 866-685-3374.

If the Pole Position Marketing team had a muse—and it does—it would be Max Speed. We love Max’s occasionally off-color, usually amusing and always pointed “Maxisms.” (Maybe “Maxims” would be a better word.) Max gives voice to some of the things we think but, bound by professional decorum, aren’t permitted to say. At least, not out loud. Read Max's full bio.

I read an article somewhere (unfortunately I don’t remember where) where the writer said that Google was a search engine that offered other services whereas Yahoo is a service provider that offered search.

    Also, I found this article:

Yahoo opening research labs in Spain, Chile

So I’m sure no one really knows where Yahoo is headed… :)

I would be suprised if Yahoo really is throwing in the towel on search. Though I think the statement Jeremy read does sum up Yahoo’s existance.
