I Am Somebody!

Remember that scene from The Jerk when the phone book is delivered to the gas station where Steve Martin’s character lives? Martin gets all excited, jumping up and down screaming, “The new phone book is here! The new phone book is here!” (It’s a scene I recreate every year when the new phone books are delivered.)

Martin then tears through the phone book looking for his name. When he finds it he shouts, “I am somebody!”

I love that scene. And yes, it seems so few people understand what I’m doing in my yearly re-creations. But that’s their problem, not mine.

But if you know what I’m talking about then you also know how cool it is when someone “bigger” than ourselves knows who we are. In this case by “bigger” I really mean “Google!”
