Never Give Up, Never Surrender

One of my favorite movies of all time is Galaxy Quest. I love sci-fi and that movie had just the right amount of sci-fi spoof while also being true. In fact, I would consider that to be one of the better sci-fi movies ever made. (If you ever watch a made-for-sci-fi-channel movie you’ll understand why it ranks so high! Anyway, in that movie Tim Allen’s character’s TV show character has a tag line: Never give up, never surrender!
My point? In the early 90′s the National Retail Dry Goods Association performed a study. The results were pretty astounding:
48% of all salesmen make one call and stop.
25% of all salesmen make two calls and stop.
15% of all salesmen make three calls and stop.
12% of all salesmen go back and back and back and back. They make 80% of all sales.
What does that tell you? Never give up, never surrender!
