Readers are Leaders
Hey, you're new. We like you already! You obviously have great taste! If you like what you read here you'll probably want to subscribe to our RSS feed (or the audio RSS feed). Stick around and be sure to speak up and post a comment or two!
I’ve always enjoyed a good novel but I find other forms of reading difficult. Over the years I’ve tried to read many educational and informational books and I always had a hard time getting through them. But since I’ve been involved with web marketing my reading habits have changed. I still find a lot of reading tough to get through, but I realized the importance of gaining wisdom through others.
Aside from reading forums and industry related news and blogs (which can occupy more than a couple hours a day) I always try to keep a book or two handy. Always at least one novel, but other industry related books, and personal development books as well. I like to read at least one book every month but my goal is four.
My biggest problem, and I suspect many are in the same boat, is that we are too busy to take the time to read. I work 10-12 hours a day at the office then another few hours at night after the kids are in bed. Reading time is a precious commodity, but a necessary one as well.
I believe in the saying “readers are leaders.” If you’re not reading then you can become a stagnant pond slowly drying up. Reading brings in fresh information and allows you to get new ideas that can improve yourself, your business or your family.
Does this sound like an after-school special? Well, you know what they say… “The more you know!”
