So why are people dissatisfied with their experience at your site? Jason Green has brought to the forefront some research conducted by Standford Persuasive Technology Lab that indicates the top 4 reasons.

1. Not able to find specific/needed information.
2. The website is confusing.
3. The website loads too slowly.
4. The existence of broken links.

Well that’s all common sense right? Common sense… yes. Commonly implemented correctly… no.

    There are a lot of usability issues that major sites have solved over the years, but more often users have learned to use bad interfaces. In addition to feature fatigue, there are always going to be considerations that require developers to refine usability. It’s better than it’s ever been, but until my mom can get around the web without confusion, there’s work to be done.
