I’m pretty much a sucker for any book in the “Rich Dad” series started by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. ABC’s is from the Advisors series which means it’s sanctioned by Kiyosaki but authored by someone else. I read this book a couple of years ago but many of its principles have stayed with me since.

The book focuses on providing a structure of honesty and integrity for your team to abide by. Establishing a set of in-office rules can help reduce tensions and avoid conflicts between members. The rules set the parameters for interoffice activity as well as the expectations of everybody from managers to employees.

ABC’s also walks you through the process of developing your internal code and how to use it to address current office issues without getting into creating just a bunch of “office rules,” which can be counterproductive. Once your internal code is developed you’ll also need a strategy to enforce them, which is also covered here.

Having a code helps attract the best team members, ensures that all members can operate at optimal performance, instills loyalty and confidence, reduces in-office tensions and takes ordinary workers and turns them into exceptional workers. There are no limits to how far you can go with an excellent team beside you! ABC’s is an easy book to read and does not mire you down in excessive technical jargon. It lays out the steps to develop, implement and enforce your code that helps you turn a good team into a great one.
