It's On TV

it is bigI gave Jeremy a hard time yesterday for wasting valuable blog space on it. But wouldn’t you know, I go home yesterday evening and see a commercial for it on TV.

I was agog. I figured this was just a stupid Internet thing, but there it was, in all it’s glory, on my television set. But I noticed something else. Quickly passing at the bottom of the screen was a copyright notice for eBay. Hmmm. Makes sense. It does use standard eBay colors. (Apparently I missed the big “eBay” image when I visited it yesterday.)

This morning I head over to eBay and see it:

So does eBay have something up its sleeve, some big reveal of new technology or services coming down the road? That’s what I originally thought. Usually, when you do commercials that start branding without revealing what it’s about, it means that something big will be announced.

After further inspection, I suspect this will not be the case. I think the big reveal here is nothing more than eBay’s new slogan. If there is something more, it’s got me interested in knowing what it will be. If not, I think this is one disappointing marketing campaign.
