Let Your Content Take Visitors on the Scenic Route [Infographic]

content appearance tips

It’s always easy to distinguish the difference between an upscale establishment and one that, well, isn’t. Upscale locations put a lot of effort and money in making their stores feel like they’re something special. This might be in the form of a scenic location, rich decoration, or just an updated storefront.

But don’t think you have to be a rich, fat cat to give your visitors that upscale feeling. Take a look at these two stores:

Any idea as to the difference in the food being sold between the two stores? I have a strong suspicion that they both sell the exact same burgers and fries for a near-identical price point.

You can argue that the location can make all the difference, and you may be right. But online, everyone has the same opportunities to earn the better locations. Which means that for your online business, location is not an issue. It’s entirely up to you if you want to make your website pleasing to the eyes or not.

But we’re talking content, not design, right? That’s good, because how content appears on your site is every bit as important as to how your site looks. It’s about using headings, matching fonts, adding photos, and throwing in a splash of color.

You can take it a step further by creating videos for your visitors as well. Even simple explanation videos of your products or services can go a long way to giving visitors something to look at that is more “scenic” than what your competition offers.

When it comes to content, visitors do judge a book by its cover. You can have the best content on earth, but if it’s not visually appealing, visitors won’t stick around long enough to see how great it is. This list covers aspects of how content should be displayed visually on your website to make it easy and enjoyable to consume.
