Some Thoughts on PubCon 2006

Well, we’re all back from PubCon safe and sound. I’m glad our team went. The sessions and our notes should spark a number of new ideas on how to improve our current procedure and service here at Pole Position Marketing. It was also a great bonding experience between the five of us to hang out in Las Vegas together, which is important for any team that spends a lot of time together.

The format of the sessions at PubCon were very similar to those at SES. You had your moderator, and 3-5 panelist experts give powerpoint presentations, and then Q & A. I found all the sessions that i attended to be useful in some matter, even if the information I learned wasn’t directly related to my job position. I think these conferences are a must for any sort of SEM team to attend together… the benefits will outweigh the cost.

Max Speed

If the Pole Position Marketing team had a muse—and it does—it would be Max Speed. We love Max’s occasionally off-color, usually amusing and always pointed “Maxisms.” (Maybe “Maxims” would be a better word.) Max gives voice to some of the things we think but, bound by professional decorum, aren’t permitted to say. At least, not out loud.
