Graywolf has posted his findings on Threadwatch that Google’s Click to Call program is now live. Performing a search for New York Hotels, you’ll find a phone icon on the fifth listing (or so) down the right side paid ads.
This is a better iteration of other forms that I’ve seen and/or heard about, in that you put in your number and Google calls you, then connects you with the advertising party.
Will this be revolutionary?
I think for many industries it will. For others, however, driving people to the website is a better alternative. I find that people who read a bit through our site before calling are more knowledgeable about what we offer and we therefore spend less time on the phone having to answer more questions than would otherwise be necessary. But as with any new advertising medium, you don’t know the ROI it will produce until you give it a shot.
