Doorways or Advertisements?

David Wallace talks about the “difference” between dorrway pages and advertising pages in his article, “Doorway Pages or Advertising Pages, What Is The Difference?” He goes on to explain how some “black hat” SEO companies are luring in unsuspecting customers and then using doorway pages to create better rankings for their pages. Wallace also gives some good advice for those considering SEO; what to look for and how to spot it.

“If you have been around the search engine optimization (SEO) world for any length of time, you have most likely heard of “doorway” pages and questioned whether they are good or bad.”

“I recently came across a SEO who cranks out hundreds and hundreds of doorway pages in their positioning strategy. They refer to them as ‘advertising pages.’ “

Max Speed

If the Pole Position Marketing team had a muse—and it does—it would be Max Speed. We love Max’s occasionally off-color, usually amusing and always pointed “Maxisms.” (Maybe “Maxims” would be a better word.) Max gives voice to some of the things we think but, bound by professional decorum, aren’t permitted to say. At least, not out loud.
