The Marketing Side of Things

For all businesses, whether they’re on the internet or not, good marketing is a must-have. It’s also an obvious thing they need, but some might not have it down right. In his article, “Make the 4 P’s of Marketing Passé,” Roy McClean talks about how we need to rethink our marketing strategy. We need to forget about the outdated “4 P’s” method and start looking at the “4 C’s” method of marketing.

” Many people who have taken a marketing course have learned about the “4 P’s” of marketing. Are Product, Price, Place and Promotion elements of this marketing formula something from the past?”

” You must think of convenience to buy instead of place. You have to know how each subset of the market prefers to buy – on the Internet, from a catalogue, on the phone, using credit cards, etc.”

Max Speed

If the Pole Position Marketing team had a muse—and it does—it would be Max Speed. We love Max’s occasionally off-color, usually amusing and always pointed “Maxisms.” (Maybe “Maxims” would be a better word.) Max gives voice to some of the things we think but, bound by professional decorum, aren’t permitted to say. At least, not out loud.
