Gain and Retain Members with the Perfect Login Pages [Infographic]

login and account pages checklist

Many websites have login pages, even those that don’t sell products online. Some offer exclusive content. Others allow visitors to join a community of like-minded people.

What all these pages have in common is that, when done right, they can help you gain and retain members. And when they are done wrong, well, not so much.

When creating or improving your login and account pages, there are 3 main things you need to focus on:

  1. Ease of use. Is it easy and quick to register? To login? To edit information? If not, you’ll lose members before they even see what you have to offer.
  2. Providing what they want. Once they login, do they find the information they expect? Is the members’ area valuable?
  3. Conveying trust. Providing personal information online is a great leap of faith and one that makes many people hesitant. Make sure your site is secure and the members KNOW it is secure and private.

The actions on this checklist will make sure your login pages cover all 3 bases, helping you get new registrations and keep the members you already have.
