Here is one well thought-out opinion on the future of linking. Linking has changed dramatically for many in the industry, but that’s just like any form of marketing; the goals often remain the same (but in the case case of links, more refined), its the methods that change. The methods we used to get links last year is vastly different from the methods we use this year and we continue to refine. The goal? That’s still to get the perfect link. But I suspect that’s often like the search for the Holy Grail. There may not be such a thing as a perfect link, but we can get lots of great links!
